Martha's Vineyard Museum Internship
Summer 2017
Only a week after graduating from Elon, I moved back to my home state of Massachusetts to spend the summer as a Marketing and Special Events Intern at the Martha's Vineyard Museum. During my summer there, I spent time assisting with and organizing many events, talks, and parties including our 19th annual fundraising gala, The Evening of Discovery, and our 2nd annual party, Bliss. Combined, these events attracted over 600 attendees and raised hundreds of thousands towards the museum's efforts.

Apart from special events, my daily responsibilities ranged from writing press releases, running errands, designing marketing materials, assisting in lighthouse tasks (the museum stewards three across the island), and updating membership and donor information in our databases.

Working for a small non-profit allowed me to try on many hats and enabled me to experience the amazing and sometimes chaotic endeavors of a dedicated and proactive organization. This opportunity was a unique learning experience and it gave me the skill sets and confidence to take on new challenges throughout future positions.
